OHA D3- Sowing Seeds Award 2019
youth engagement
The Sowing Seeds Award is presented annually to a District 3 Society or Club which has demonstrated an engagement with youth in their community. This could be by having an actual Youth Group as part of their organization, or by involving youth through other means, such as working in conjunction with the local public library, school or other youth-related community agency. Societies do not apply for this award. The District 3 Board looks at the Ontario Horticultural Association Annual Report from each Society and makes a decision based on the information found there, and any additional information from the Presidents' six-month reports. The
District 3 President informed the RLHS Board in May that RLHS is the recipient of this award this year for its work in 2019 with the Rideau District High School (RDHS) Greenhouse Club.

(Missing is volunteer Louise Richards.) The volunteers and Mark are holding a picture of the award, currently residing with the 2019 recipient Society. The RLHS Board wishes to thank and congratulate these volunteers, as well as the Greenhouse Club and Mark, for all their efforts to green RDHS!
